Brought you by AXA
There is no shortage of heroes in Ireland. We are a nation known right around the world for our kindness, generosity and honourable acts.
From local volunteers who organise weekly rubbish pickups to keep the streets clean to the countless fundraising events hosted every day by people right across the country.
If you think it's time to shine a much-deserved light on a local hero, you should definitely check out the AXA Community Hero Awards.
AXA wants to celebrate unsung heroes nationwide, so if you’re lucky enough to know someone who inspires others, now is your chance to celebrate them.
Each of the Community Heroes will get an award of €20,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.
There will be awards in the areas of:
1. Road Safety
2. Mental Health
3. Women’s Safety & Wellbeing
4. Sustainability
AXA’s judging panel will be on the hunt for people who have shown leadership, innovation and creativity as they help others.
So if you think you might know someone who fits that description, it's super simple to nominate them.
All you have to do is write 150 words and explain how that person has positively impacted their community under one of the four categories and why they should be recognised as a Community Hero.
The nomination can be submitted online using the dedicated page at www.axa.ie.
Nominations are open from now until 4pm on Monday, 5th January 2026.
So what are you waiting for? It's time to celebrate those who continuously go above and beyond to help others.
Visit axa.ie and nominate your Community Hero today.
