Many of us follow the 'hair training' trend but is it time to ditch it?
Personally, I need to wash my gruaig every day, at least my fringe, because it gets greasy quickly.
It's something I've always been worried about but my hairdresser recently told me it isn't as bad as people say it is.
Especially if you're caring for your hair by using oils and masks in between.
And of course, avoiding heat as often as possible.
One dermatologist recently said we need to pay more attention to our scalp care.
Dr Jenny Liu explained: "We know that sebum, dead skin build-up, all of that basically contributes to Malassezia yeast overgrowth.
"This can lead to dandruff, as well as inflammation."
"Number one is letting my scalp dictate how often I should be washing my hair instead of being constrained by a certain number.
"What I mean is I will wash my hair if my scalp feels greasy, instead of saying 'Oh, I have to wash my hair every other day or twice a week'.
"Hair growth starts at the scalp so it's really important to keep it health."
Excessive sebum and dandruff can lead to oxidative stress so washing your locks actually helps avoid this.
So there you have it! Maybe the hair-training trend is one we can leave behind this summer.
