Orange is the New Black Star Laverne Cox Poses Nude for Allure

Groundbreaking actress Laverne Cox has stripped off for Allure magazine's annual Nudes issue.  The star initially turned down the shoot with photographer Norman Jean Roy, but according to the magazine she reversed her decision in an attempt to inspire transgender people everywhere. Cox shot to fame as inmate Sophia Burset in Netflix series Orange is the New Black. Speaking to Allure, she said: "I'm a black transgender woman. I felt this could be really powerful for the communities that I represent." "Trans women certainly are not told we're beautiful. Seeing a black transgender woman embracing and loving everything about herself might be inspiring to some other folks. There's beauty in the things we think are imperfect." The spread also features Fast and the Furious star Jordana Brewster, Bones' Kathryn Winnick, Shame actress Nicole Beharie and House of Cards' Sandrine Holt.
