The beauty experts over at Elle have revealed that the oils that build up on our eyelids, coupled with our body heat, literally do make the mascara melt off your lashes as the day goes on.
They recommend keeping your eyelids as oil-free as possible, which means keeping creams and moisturisers away from the area.
Priming your eyelids should also make a big difference. We usually think of that as a base to prep for eyeshadow but everyday priming will mean your eyelids are more matte and therefore less likely to be the cause of your mascara smudging.
