Hairspray is an absolute must for holding curls in place because more often than not, those painstakingly-styled curls fall out far too quickly if you forget to load on the sticky stuff. Some hairsprays are all about the touchable hold but even so, if you hate the feeling of hairspray full-stop, this is where your can of dry shampoo comes in handy.

Thanks to Byrdie, we now know that dry shampoo is key to holding curls in place because and it's very simple really, the starch found in dry shampoo helps to mould your beachy waves in place. No clumps or stickiness, just soft curls that actually HOLD. This might be our favourite beauty hack ever...
