Sculpted by Aimee has long been part of every Irish girl's make-up bag, but her latest product may be the one that wins everyone over.
The Sculpted by Aimee team has released some of our favourite products, but the Cream Cushion foundation has blown us away.
Her's Jody Coffey was one of few people who got to try the product before it launched on September 24th.
Compact foundation is still quite a new concept here in Ireland, with Sculpted by Aimee founder Aimee Connolly drawing inspiration from Korean beauty trends.
It’s been built into us since the dawn of YouTube tutorials that the choice of tools for foundation application includes brushes, sponges, and our fingers.
Cushion application is so much easier than the others, in my opinion. In fact, it feels more akin to applying skincare than foundation.
As someone who struggles to find the sweet spot with coverage (toeing the line between wanting some coverage and wanting a natural look), the Cream Cushion (buy here) ticks all of the boxes.
That’s the beauty of a compact foundation, it’s customisable. You get full control of your coverage, which makes this a game-changer for your makeup as it has the ability to take your look from day to night at the press of a cushion.
After a lifetime of trying to hide my freckles with foundation, I've finally embraced them. I just don't love being makeup-free, so I love that Aimee has given me the option of coverage I can customise, so my freckles still show, but I never feel bare or exposed.
Speaking of makeup-free, I could not believe how naturally this product sits on the skin. Your skin feels like skin, rather than an extra layer - even with regular top-ups during the day.
The blend of ingredients, including niacinamide, glycerin, long-wear polymers, and vitamin E., works to brighten, hydrate, and improve skin.
So your foundation is working in tandem with your skincare. I can fully see this by the end of a long work day on my unruly combination skin. My makeup isn’t oily or patchy, and I don’t have the usual foundation-related telltale signs of a busy day, such as patchiness or creasing.
I also did a full pilates class with a fresh coat of Cream Cushion, and it sat perfectly by the end.
So, yes, it’s been built into us since the dawn of YouTube tutorials that the choice of tools for foundation application includes brushes, sponges, and our fingers, but there is another way; an easier way.
Cream Cushion's mesh applicator releases the perfect amount of product with every press, making it cleaner and smarter than traditional cushion foundations.
The Cream Cushion product ticks all the boxes when it comes to application, finish, ingredients, price, and sustainability. Not to mention, it’s the brainchild of Aimee Connolly, who became Ireland's leading makeup artist by age 18 and launched her own award-winning beauty brand by 23.
My skin loves it, others compliment it, and, most importantly, it feels good.
Sculpted By Aimee’s Cream Cushion is €32, or €28 to refill. Buy here.
