Famesick by Lena Dunham is one of the best celebrity memoirs we've read in years

Celebrity memoirs are always hit and miss, with some feeling so far-fetched and otherworldly that you struggle to connect with the narrator. But then there are books like Famesick by Lena Dunham that are so beautifully honest, incredibly raw, and will take the glamour away from Hollywood.

I just finished reading Famesick by Lena Dunham this week after hearing nothing but positive reviews from fellow readers, but it really stopped me in my tracks. Lena Dunham's writing is so unbelievably personable that you can't help but feel like you're reconnecting with a friend as she reflects on her life, her career, her trauma, and her relationships. There are no walls up here, there is no celebrity trying to convince the public that they're flawless, there is no glamourisation of a world we can't even begin to imagine being part of. This memoir is as real as it gets.
