Why we probably won’t see a first picture of Meghan and Harry’s baby girl for a while

There's another royal baby alert.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed a baby girl to the royal family over the weekend, paying tribute to Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth in her name. Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor is the newest addition to the family, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to use the nickname "Lili" instead. And while we may know the name of the latest little royal, it's unlikely we'll get a glimpse of what she looks like for a while. Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their roles as senior royals, they have become increasingly more private about their lives. The royal couple recently shared photos of their son Archie for his second birthday, but avoided showing his face in them. This is the most recent photo the couple has shared, and they have been posting less and less of their lives since stepping back from royal duties. Not to mention that they took two days to announce that their daughter had been born, so it's highly likely they'll hold off on sharing any pictures any time soon. Lilibet was born on Friday, June 4th in Santa Barbara, California but the news didn't break until the Sunday. "It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world," reads a statement. "Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. "She weighed 7lbs 11oz (3.5kg). Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home. "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."
