A mum in Australia has admitted she refuses to tell her children about Santa Claus because she doesn't want to lie to them.
Mum Charlotte said she won't lie to her two-year-old daughter about Father Christmas being real.
Speaking to Kidspot, she admitted, "I never received anything that other children had. It really affected me and made me believe Santa had forgotten me. I don’t want my child to believe that."
The mum added, “I want to be able to have an open and honest relationship with her."
She stressed that she doesn't want to make her daughter feel "left out".
The mum said she never mentions Santa, the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy to her daughter.
Despite her beliefs, Charlotte said they will still celebrate Christmas at home.
“This Christmas, she will have presents and her stocking like everyone else, but instead of it being from Santa she will know that we got her those things."
“Hopefully by doing it that way she will understand that we work hard for her gifts and will have more appreciation rather than if some man had just given her them," she added.
