The moment you've all been waiting for, her maj the Queen's statement on the Harry and Meghan Oprah interview, has finally arrived. And the best bit is this is, like, not even the season finale of this drama. It's going to run and run and run until the sight of any of the people involved in this sorry affair makes you physically sick, if it doesn't already. Quick recap, if you've been living under a rock. Harry and Meghan levelled some incredibly serious allegations against the royal family as an institution - that conversations were had about how dark the skin of their baby would be and the denial of mental health support to the Duchess when she was experiencing suicidal thoughts. Repugnant but unsurprising statements from an anachronism of the UK's colonial past. They literally believe in hereditary supremacy. Anyway, less of what I think, more of what the Queen thinks. She said: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members." Little dig there perhaps in "recollections may vary" line, but otherwise a pretty calm and supportive statement from Buckingham Palace. You'd be forgiven for thinking the world was on fire, given the amateur dramatics from Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, including a walk out, after being confronted by fellow on-air talent Alex Beresford for the way he has been covering the story. Beresford, in an extremely calm tone, told Morgan that while he may be disappointed that Markle ended her friendship with him, that is a decision that she was more than entitled to take. "I understand that you do not like Meghan Markle and you have made it clear so many times - so many times on this programme," said Beresford. "And I understand you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and she cut you off. She is entitled to cut you off if she wants to. "Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? Now, I do not think she has. But yet you continue to trash her." "OK, I am done with this," Morgan replied. "No, no, no, that is pathetic," said Beresford. "Absolutely diabolical behaviour." A few hours later, Beresford took to Twitter to address the matter. "I wish I had the privilege to sit on the fence," he said. "In order for me to do that I would have to strip myself of my identity and that's not something I can do. "It's not any of our places to pick apart claims of racism in order to make us feel more comfortable," he concluded, adding a love heart.
