You can now visit Dobby the House Elf’s grave in Wales

I’m not crying, you are.

One of the saddest moments in the entire Harry Potter franchise was Dobby the house elf's death. In a heartbreaking scene in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Dobby was sadly killed when Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange threw her knife at him and Harry while they apparated, striking him and fatally wounding him. Now, fans can pay their tributes to the heroic elf by visiting his grave in the UK. In the film, Harry buries Dobby at a fictional beach in Cornwall, but the real life grave is located at the location where the scene was really shot in Pembrokeshire in Wales. The grave was set up and has been maintained by Harry Potter fans over the years and can be found tucked away in the sand dunes of Freshwater West Beach near Castlemartin. It features heartwarming messages to the creature, as well as several stones and slabs with images of Dobby adorning them. The gravestone reads: "Here lies Dobby, a free elf."

Dobby was first introduced in the movies as the enslaved house elf who belonged to the Malfoy family. After he assists Harry in The Chamber of Secrets, the wizard takes a liking to him and tricks Lucius Malfoy into giving him a sock (the only way for a house elf to become free is to be given an item off clothing by their master). Over the years, an eternally grateful and now free Dobby becomes a friend of Harry's. Harry Potter fever has well and truly been revived in the lead-up to the Harry Potter 20th anniversary reunion: Return to Hogwarts, which drops on New Year's Day. If there was ever a time to visit Dobby, it's now.
