The project is like "Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video" and - much like the original film - would be set in high school.
According to Deadline, the series would look at what happens when queen bee Cher disappears and her best pal and life-long right hand woman, Dionne, takes her place.
But how does she deal with the pressures of being the most popular girl in school, while also trying to uncover the mystery of what happened to Cher?
It wouldn't be the first time that Cher, Dionne et al. hit the small screen, either.
In 1996, there was a half hour comedy series Clueless, created by the film's original writer and director Amy Heckerling. It ran for a total of three seasons.
