Fans think they’ve figured out the plot of The Devil Wears Prada 2

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is being released in May 2026

Yesterday, Anne Hathaway gave fans their first glimpse at Andy Sachs in 2025, and it's safe to say the beloved character is as cool as ever.

Posing in a waistcoat and matching trousers, Anne Hathaway looked as powerful as Miranda Priestly as she stepped back into the shoes of one of her most-loved characters.

The actress was then spotted filming the sequel all around New York.

The cast for the sequel has been confirmed, but we know very little about the plot for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

However, some fans believe they may have figured out the plot after spotting a small detail in one photo of Hathaway.

We know Meryl Streep will return as Miranda Priestly, but fans believe Andy may be taking over as editor.

Streep's character was determined not to leave the publication when we last saw her, but it's been 20 years since the original film, and it may be time for Priestly to retire.

Fans believe Andy is set to return to the world of Runway after she was spotted with a Runway bag on set.

Others think she may be teaming up with Miranda to help the editor save the print magazine in a digital-obsessed world.

One wrote, "What if she’s coming back from being a foreign correspondent in Europe or whatever and Miranda called her and asked her to come back to runway (hint: the bag)"

Will Andy return as an editor? A freelance writer after succeeding as a journalist on her own? Or even as Miranda's assistant after all this time? We'll just have to wait until May 2026 to find out.

Is Meryl Streep returning for The Devil Wears Prada 2?

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all confirmed to be returning for the sequel.

Kenneth Branagh has also been added to the cast. The actor will star as Miranda Priestly’s husband in the upcoming film.

However, one actor from the original movie will not be returning, but we don’t think fans will be too disappointed by this one.

Adrian Grenier won’t be returning as Nate Cooper, Andy’s boyfriend.

The Devil Wears Prada sequel is due to land on May 1st, 2026.
