Fans were left confused this week after lead actor Chase Stokes penned what seemed like a goodbye post to the show.
The actor has played the lead character, John. B since 2020, but is he ready to say farewell to the show that gave him his big break?
The actor posted multiple photos from the set on his Instagram and reflected on his time on the show.
He said, "Really hard to process the last five years, but my heart is full. thank you. thank you to each and every one of you. forever grateful, forever appreciative. cheers to 5 years of doing the damn thing. p4l."
The post panicked fans with many wondering if the show was ending after season four.
One said, "Why does this sound like a goodbye post?"
Another added, "Don't tell me this is last season I can't."
The fourth season of Outer Banks is set for release this year, but Netflix confirmed that they're no longer following the original plan to end after season five.
The co-creators told Entertainment Weekly that they're no longer adhering to their original plan.
"I don't know if I could put a real number on it right now — how long it takes to get to that ending might expand, but we now know the shape of the end of the story. We're going to take it as long as we can, for sure."
Fans don't have anything to worry about for now and can look forward to new episodes later this year.
