The Meryl Streep classic has been a comfort movie of ours ever since it was released in 2006.
Reuniting with Andy and the team at Runway magazine is something we can't wait for, and viewers actually don't have to wait as long as we thought.
The cast teased a sequel at the 2024 SAG Awards, but the film has reportedly been given the green light.
According to reports, Disney has plans to release the movie in 2026.
The Devil Wears Prada sequel will land on May 1st, 2026.
The official cast has not yet been confirmed, but reports claim Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt will reprise their roles.
Stanley Tucci also expressed interest in working on the sequel.
He previously told E! News: "Listen, it was a great experience, right?" he explained. "My hope is, if it happens—obviously we'd have to work out all the logistics—but it'd be a fun thing for everybody."
In an interview with The View, Anne Hathaway said she'd love to see what Andy was up to today.
She did admit that the film would be incredibly different nowadays, given the downfall of print media.
She told the publication:
"I just think that movie was in a different era. Now, everything has gone so digital, and that movie centred around the concept of producing a physical thing, and it’s just very different now."
The Devil Wears Prada author Lauren Weisberger has even written a sequel to the original novel.
She penned Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns in 2016 so the material is there for a second movie.
