Turns Out This Christmas Favourite Isn’t Technically A Christmas Movie?!

But it has Christmas in the title?!  Whether or not The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween or a Christmas movie has long been a bone of contention among fans. The movie centres around Halloweentown's pumpkin king, Jack Skellington, as he plots to kidnap Christmas. The town must fight to save Santa Claus and Christmas - leading folks to deduct that it is a bonafide festive film. Since its release in 1993, the Tim Burton classic has divided fans into two camps - Halloween vs. Christmas. Now, director Henry Selick has spoken out and ended the confusion once and for all. Speaking at the Telluride Horror Show, he confirmed that it is in fact a Halloween movie. He descirbed it as a "movie about Halloween, and the people of Halloween, and how they react to something like Christmas." We're taking this as an excuse to watch it twice!
