"Brunch?"Absolutely golden. The mundane rotation of porridge, granola, toast (and repeat) can get quite tiring during the weekdays, so venturing into the exotic realms of things like avocado and feta smash on toast or maybe an acai bowl can be a real weekend treat. If you happen to be in the Rebel County this weekend, here are four of the best spots to check out. SOMA: This is a holy grail place to check out for brunch. As well as having set options, SOMA also does a brunch special which varies each week. Apart from being aesthetically BEAUTIFUL, everything they make is absolutely delicious. The intimate cafe which is situated on Tuckey Street has only been open a year and a half but has established itself as a firm favourite among Corkonians. SOMA provide high-quality coffee, which is roasted in-house. It's also a favourite of James Kavanagh, who held his Cork book signing in the café. The staff are sound and the vibe is great, so you really can't go wrong. Good Day Deli: If you're looking for brunch with a view, the Good Day Deli is a must visit. Nestled in the stunning grounds of Nano Nagle Place, the café feels as if you just set foot into The Secret Garden. The focus is on natural foods that are better for you and the environment but saying this, taste is in no way compromised. The Good Day Deli does a range of both savoury and sweet breakfasts and the food is so fresh. It really is an experience to visit and the surrounding gardens make for a lovely stroll afterwards. Joes and Bros: If you're vegan or veggie and you're going to brunch with a staunch meat eater, it can be really tricky to think of places that will cater to both. Joes and Bros located on college road is the sweet spot that will keep everyone happy. From hearty meat feasts to refreshing and flavoursome acai bowls, they've got you covered. BE WARNED, HOWEVER: This place gets very busy so best get in early is our advice! Ali's Kitchen: This minimalist café located on Paul Street has a Scandi-cool vibe that is instantly charming. They are known for their decadent French toast creations, which you simply must try. So that's our round-up of Cork's finest brunch spots. Whether you're chronically hungover and looking for a cure, or you're looking to refuel after a Sunday run (apparently those people exist) we hope you enjoy.
