Yes, experts are suggesting that mums take a break from it all, not just for their own mental health but also for the well-being of their families.
Psychology professor, Dr. Nava Silton has said to WDRB;
"It's very important for kids to see that balance that ideally needs to be achieved in a family situation."
While mother of two, Judy Khosh admitted;
"I came back and I was a better mom. A more patient mom. A better wife. You learn to appreciate what you have at home because you got that break from it all."
I think there is a lot to be said for mums getting a little break and I wholeheartedly agree that it helps improve mental health.
As parents, we are constantly thinking about the needs of others and it can put a lot of stress and strain on us both physically and mentally.
A couple of days to simply think about ourselves is the ultimate treat and the couple of times I've gotten to get away child free I didn't know myself.
For those raising kids solo, a luxury like this is almost impossible and I think it would be a really cool idea if there was a parenting club where parents took turns watching each other's kids while they went on parent-cations.
Sort of like the babysitter's club but you're allowed drink wine.
What do you think? Do all parents deserve a kid-free break from time to time? And if you went on a breakaway where would you go?
