Back then, we'd munch away on bowls of Coco Pops and buttery slices of bread before pottering up the road to school.
Oh, how we miss the simple days.
Nowadays, we barely have time to make a cup of coffee before commuting to the office, but our bad breakfast habits need to change.
Many studies have shown that not having a bite to eat in the morning can be bad for you.
According to expert Dr Oz, the time at which you sit down for your first meal of the day is also very important.
The health professional recommends that you should always have breakfast within an hour of waking up.
Whether that's a bowl of porridge, a slice of toast, a mini fry, or some granola and fruit, eating within an hour of waking up is key to kickstarting your day the best way.
Speaking to Pop Sugar, Dr Oz said that lunch should come about four and a half hours after that, and then, a couple of hours later, you should be tucking into your dinner.
Sticking to this sort of routine makes you less likely to eat junk food, and having your dinner at least three hours before you go to bed helps to avoid indigestion.
