Europe’s sunniest cities have been revealed in new study

These cities are the sunniest in Europe.

A new study completed by holiday rental platform Holidu has officially released a list of Europe’s sunniest cities. It analysed data from World Weather Online to find the cities that see the most sunshine hours per month.

Unsurprisingly, the Southeastern Spanish city of Cartagena topped the list and is confirmed to be Europe’s sunniest city.

According to the research, Cartagena has an average of 283 hours of sun per month, which is almost 12 whole days. The city has a monthly average temperature of just over 19 degrees, and peaks at a whopping 29 degrees in the summer months of July and August.

Spain claims every spot in the top five, and 11 overall spots in the top 20, to no surprise. Alicante and Malaga round out the top three with 279.6 and 279.3 hours of sunshine per month, respectively.

Destinations across Greece, Italy, and France also made the list.
