If you or a friend is expecting a new arrival in the next few month, make sure you get down to Lidl to make the most of its Baby Event this week. Welcoming a tiny new person into your home, fun and exciting though it is, is crazy expensive so any sale where you can pick up baby bits starting under a tenner is a parent-to-be's best friend. Need clothes? Toys for the buggy? Some adorable animal-themed blankets? A Disney-themed travel cot featuring Minnie Mouse or Winnie The Pooh? They're all there. Shoppers can also get their hands on some big brand names for less this week.

Announcing the event, Lidl said it is "offering parents must-haves for their little one's at seriously low prices.

"From big brands such as Cow and Gate, to our Lupilu Kids Clothing range, Lidl Ireland has everything from snacks to toys, clothes to cots."
