PSA: You can get paid to explore New York and live rent-free for three months

Fancy living in New York rent free for three months?

The Alliance for Downtown New York is currently hiring for an "explorer-in-chief" and seeing as the position is based in one of the best cities in the world, we need to know more. "Out and about, discovering Lower Manhattan" is what you'll be doing on a day-to-day basis and it really does sound like the dream position. Here's the job spec:

"Ideal applicants will have a camera-ready personality, a keen eye, a distinctive voice and the chops to produce compelling, entertaining content. They'll be someone who is charismatic and comfortable as the centre of attention but who knows that the location is, ultimately, the star".

To apply, you must compile a 60-second YouTube video that explains why you're the right person for this rather amazing three-month opening. The applications will later be whittled down to three finalists with one ultimate winner. In terms of travel expenses, "if you are selected as one of the three finalists, the Downtown Alliance will pay your round-trip travel expenses to New York City for the final job interview. If you are our lucky winner, we’ll also cover your round-trip travel expenses for your once-in-a-lifetime summer in New York City".
