The survey found that 52% of travellers are looking to book trips where the destination is a complete mystery.
It also found that 34% are willing to travel with strangers. This has certainly become popular recently as influencers with online communities are planning group trips with their followers.
Kacie Rose, an American influencer living in Italy, did a tour of Italy with a select group of followers last summer where they learned about wine, food, and Italian culture.
While going abroad with a group of strangers may be daunting, it's certainly a way to travel out of your comfort zone.
People are more likely to stick to a budget this year, with some opting for staycations instead of expensive trips abroad.
The study found that 43% of travellers are searching for spots closer to home, and 47% of parents are planning holidays during off-peak seasons.
39% of pet owners also plan to bring their pets along to avoid pricey kennel fees. You certainly don't have to break the bank to have a good holiday.
According to the survey, 68% of people found that they become their best selves when travelling, whether they're being their true selves or not.
62% said they enjoy the anonymity of travelling, while 37% said they often tell fictional stories about their lives.
While it may be cringe inducing to hear people talk about 'finding themselves' after a trip, it can be good for the soul to put yourself first and do some self reflection while travelling - let yourself be the main character for once!
Food truly is fuel. Of those surveyed, half said they plan their trips around specific restaurants and local cuisines.
61% were also interested in learning about the origins of local delicacies and dishes. It's well worth making a list of restaurants and famous foods to try before you go to your destination.
There's nothing worse than struggling to find a decent meal after hours of sightseeing in the heat. Plus, research helps you avoid any tourist traps and find the hidden gems of the culinary world.
