Better make sure to bundle up this weekend, as Met Éireann have forecast some serious cold weather - and snow. Friday will be "dry in most areas" in the morning, with frost clearing as the cloud thickens. The rain in the west of the country will spread eastwards to all areas of the country, before learning this afternoon. However, there will be scattered showers following on Friday evening - with highest temperatures ranging from 8C to 12C. There will be clear spells and showers overnight, a few of them wintry in the north. Temperatures will drop as low as 1C in some parts of the country. According to Met Éireann, Saturday is going to start off "mostly cloudy" as showers moving eastwards across the country. Although it's not all bad news, as there are "some bright or sunny intervals" also forecast. The highest temperatures will range between 5C in the north and 11C in the south. A forecaster added:

"Saturday night will be cold and breezy with wintry showers, mainly of rain, hail and sleet, but turning increasingly to snow overnight, especially in Ulster and on high ground. "Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3C with moderate to fresh westerly winds."

Sunday is going to be another "very cold day", with a mix of sunny spells and wintry showers of rain, hail, sleet and snow. Highest temperatures will be between 4C to 7C, with fresh, gusty westerly winds, strong in coastal areas. On Sunday night, showers will become more isolated. It will be cold with lowest temperatures of 0 to 2C with frost and icy patches in places.

A weather forecaster added: "Monday will start off mainly dry with some sunny spells. It will become a bit milder with highest temperature of 7C to 10C. "Southerly winds will gradually strengthen and rain will spread eastward across the country later in the day and on Monday night. "The rain will be heavy in many areas. It will clear overnight with showers following from the west."
