Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni reach settlement over It Ends With Us lawsuit

In a joint statement, both sides confirmed they’ve resolved the situation, although they didn’t share any details about a financial settlement. 

The case started when Lively accused Baldoni (who also directed the film) of inappropriate behaviour on set.

According to her complaint, Baldoni allegedly made comments about his sex life and pushed for additional sex scenes that weren’t originally part of the script or agreed upon. 

The filing also claimed that producer Jamey Heath behaved inappropriately during a scene, and that Baldoni later led a PR effort to harm Lively’s reputation.

Despite everything, both sides have said the film itself remains “a source of pride” and acknowledging that the situation was challenging. 

They also noted that Lively’s concerns deserved to be heard and expressed hope that everyone involved can now move on peacefully.

Baldoni and his studio, Wayfarer Studios, had previously filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of extortion and defamation. 

However, those claims were dismissed by a judge last year.

While some parts of Lively’s case were also dismissed, her allegations of retaliation were still set to go to trial later this month, until this settlement brought everything to a close.

The film itself, based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover, was a huge success, earning over $350 million at the box office and becoming one of 2024’s biggest hits.
