An 11-year-old boy was injured following an incident at a school in North Dublin.
Gardaí were called to a primary school in North Dublin earlier today after an incident between two children.
Gardaí stated that both children are pupils at the North Dublin primary school.
They confirmed that one child was rushed to the hospital but stressed that his injuries were not life-threatening.
The parents of both children have been contacted by the Gardaí.
Gardaí confirmed the child was injured due to an implement.
They're liaising with both the parents and school management following the incident.
A statement from Gardaí reads:
"Earlier today, Gardaí attended an incident that occurred at a primary school in North Dublin involving two children. Both children involved attend the school.
"One male child has been taken to a hospital in Dublin with injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening. Gardaí are in contact with the parents of both children.
"An Garda Síochána is currently liaising with school management and staff with a view to identifying the precise circumstances around the incident.
"An Garda Síochána will continue to engage with all relevant State agencies regarding this incident."
