At least 100 people were killed at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris, as well as 40 others in loactions around the city including the Stade de France.

At least 60 other people have been injured. President Michael D Higgins said this evening: "I have been shocked to learn of and view the images of the terrible events unfolding in Paris this evening." Enda Kenny took to Twitter to express his condolences, writing: "This is a shocking attack on humanity. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families."

The attacks come almost a year after the Charlie Hebdo attacks, which took place in January and saw 12 people killed after a shooting at the offices of the satirical magazine.
