A fresh weather warning has been issued for four counties following Storm Callum

Met Éireann have issued a fresh weather warning for four counties following Storm Callum.

The status yellow rainfall caution is for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford and Wicklow and came into effect at 6am this morning [Saturday, October 13]. It will remain in effect until 9pm tonight. A forecaster warned that rain will be persistent and heavy at times, with risk of spot flooding. The total rainfall will be between 30mm to 40mm. As for the rest of the weekend, Met Éireann have said that Saturday will be "mostly cloudy and wet with rain in all areas". The rainfall will be heavy at times, with a risk of spot flooding - especially in the southeast. The forecaster said:

"Drier weather will develop in the west this evening. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees with light variable breezes, becoming moderate northwesterly. "Tonight, rain will gradually clear eastwards from most places, but may linger near east and southeast coasts. Lowest temperatures will be around 5 to 7 degrees in a moderate Northwesterly breeze."

Meanwhile, Sunday is going to be mostly dry with good sunny spells - and any rain that is lingering near the east coast will clear. Forecasters have said that a few scattered showers may develop in the West later, with the highest temperatures between 11C to 13C.
