Tori Lux: James Deen Assaulted Me, Too https://t.co/9IHDmYbyZL pic.twitter.com/2beRTe1IPe

Lux wrote: 'A few people with whom I’ve shared this story over the years have asked me why I didn’t call the police as soon as it happened, or publicly speak up about it shortly thereafter. The reason for that is because people—including the police—tend to believe that sex workers have placed themselves in harm’s way, and therefore can’t be assaulted.'

American lifestyle website TheFrisky issued a statement following Stoya's allegations, saying that they would no longer be publishing Deen's sex advice column. Editor Amelia McDonnell Parry wrote:
'From a professional standpoint, as the editor of a women’s blog which has published the accused’s words, acting swiftly and decisively is the least that I can do. The court of public opinion is not a court of law, and I don’t need Stoya or any woman to “prove” that she has been raped for me to believe her.'
Is it really necessary to explain what "I believe women" means? People are dense AF.

Deen has also resigned from his role as chairperson of the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee's board of directors (Mashable) and been dropped by major studio Kink.com.
