Gardaí have said they are treating the deaths of a man and a young child as a murder-suicide case.
The bodies were discovered in a home in Dublin, and they are that of father and daughter.
They have been named locally as Krzysztof Daczkowski, 50, and his five-year-old daughter Julia Daczkowsa.
Emergency services and gardaí were called to a house in Heathfield estate in Finglas shortly before 8pm on Saturday, September 27.
It is believed that the child's mother discovered the bodies when she returned home from work that evening, per RTE.
The bodies of the deceased, who are reported to be from Poland, were removed from the scene by ambulance at midday on Sunday, and post mortem examinations are due to be carried out.
Detectives are understood to believe that Daczkowski killed his daughter and then took his own life.
Neighbours described the family as quiet, and said the dad worked as a bus driver.
