Gardaí issued a warning to parents as thousands of children return to school this week.
Others will be attending school for the first time, a milestone moment for many parents.
As they return to school, many families will be sharing adorable snaps of their kids in their pristine new uniforms.
We all remember standing at the hall door and grinning from cheek to cheek as we posed for that first-day photo.
As cute as they are, sharing these photos online can be dangerous.
Gardaí have warned the public against posting the photos online because people will figure out what school their child attends by their school crest.
The National Cyber Crime Bureau said parents can still take the photos but warned them against posting them online.
They stressed that if you're posting photos online then you should blur out the number of your door and the school logo or team.
You should also blur any other identification information.
Parents and guardians should also turn the location data on their phones off.
This will help protect both you and your child when posting the photos online.
However, Gardaí stressed that it is best to keep the photos off social media.
As schools begin to reopen this week, some proud families may be posting photos of children in uniform on social media.
