An incredible number of men don’t actually know where the vagina is

According to a new study, half of men can't locate the vagina on a diagram.

A survey conducted by The Eve Appeal found that only 50 percent of them successfully located the vagina when prompted. The study included 2,000 men from the UK. However, we shouldn't be too quick to chastise the guys for mistaking the vagina for the cervix. According to a similar poll conducted a few years ago referenced by The Eve Appeal, the same amount of women also struggled to correctly locate their lady bits too. The group published their findings to coincide with Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month. As part of the ongoing campaign to educate people about the five cancers that originate in the genital area, they also published a list of each of the diseases and the exact location where they occur. Vaginal cancer occurs in the bottom of the uterus, also known as the birth canal. Uterine cancer originates in the womb which is located in the pelvis. Cervical cancer originates in the cervix between the uterus and the vagina. Vulvar cancer occurs in the outer part of the genital area and is most commonly diagnosed on the inside of the labia. Ovarian cancer occurs inside the body on either side of the uterus. Despite the results of The Eve Appeal's poll, it's probably unfair to say that this inability to locate the vagina stems from willful ignorance. Rather, it's more likely that both men and women are getting confused due to a lack of appropriate sex education. We're already more than aware of how dire sex ed currently is in Irish schools, so it's likely that students are suffering the same plight abroad. Because if men and women don't know where the vagina is, we've definitely got a problem.
