Add us as a preferred source on Google »It's official - Ireland's sexiest accent has been revealed.
In a recent survey, more than half of voters from the UK and Ireland chose the accent from our capital city as the most attractive.
The survey was commissioned by Netflix ahead of the premiere of Love is Blind: UK to finally put the debate to bed on the sexiest accent around Ireland and the UK.
Around 2,000 people had their say in total, with a whopping 58% choosing the dulcet tones of the Dublin accent.
We know what you're thinking - which Dublin accent? Seeing as there are countless variations. Alas, the survey wasn't very specific, so you'll have to argue amongst yourselves.
Behind Dublin came London's cockney accent at 45%, followed by the Welsh (38%), Edinburgh in Scotland (37%), and Liverpool (34%).
Of those interviewed, 59% said they fancied somebody on the sole basis of their accent.
On the other end of things, it's not good news for the Brummies as those with a Birmingham inflection were voted to be the least attractive.
The bottom of the list is also made up with Essex (55%), Geordie (49%), and Glaswegian (47%).
It's not all bad news though, as 81% said they would ignore the annoying accent if the person was attractive. So there's hope yet as long as you scrub up!
While we're not sure how much credence we want to put into the survey, we are sure Dubs from every corner of the capital will now be celebrating in unison at this news.
The first season of Love is Blind: UK dropped on Netflix recently and features one Dublin man, 31-year-old Conor Griffin, who runs the health food business Roots.
