According to a report by Evoke, the Dublin Wives star was found by a member of her family.
They told the publication: "Yes it is true unfortunately, 51 is way too young to die."
They added: "Family were still being notified before it was public."
The Sunday World confirmed she passed away last Thursday.
Her cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Tributes have been pouring in for Jo Jordan following her untimely passing.
Jo starred in the Dublin Wives series in 2012 but the show ended after one season. She was also a successful businesswoman.
She starred alongside Roz Flanagan, Danielle Meagher, Virgina Macari, and the late Lisa Murphy.
The show followed a group of housewives living in the city and revealed what went on in their lives behind closed doors.
Before her untimely passing, Jo Jordan suffered a heart attack in 2016.
She was only 42 at the time of the health scare.
She opened up about it on her social media: "Three weeks ago I had a heart attack. It was the scariest journey I have ever felt.
"I'm only 42 try not to stress and live your life to the fullest. I had an awful fright but I can't thank my friends and family enough," she added.
