Today is set to see widespread outbreaks of rain, which will cause localised flooding in places. Tomorrow and Sunday will also see widespread showers, with sleet and snow possible on New Year’s Day on higher ground.
Temperatures will remain mild at 9C today but are set to drip overnight to as low as -4C tomorrow and -3C on Sunday.
One forecaster said: "It does look like there will be scattered outbreaks of rain and they may fall as sleet and possibly snow on higher ground.
