A Luas power outage caused significant disruption for Dublin city commuters on Wednesday morning (10 December).
Due to the power fault, there is no tram service operating on the red line between Smithfield and Connolly / The Point and on the green line between Broombridge and Sandyford.
“The service disruption has been caused by a power fault,” a Luas spokesperson said.
“Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of this service disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“Luas technicians are on site and will work their way systematically along the Green Line to identify the source of the fault.
“Customers will be kept informed in real time via the Luas website, social media channels, and media traffic and travel updates.”
One of the green line Luas trams broke down outside Trinity College, causing traffic to build up on Westmoreland Street in the centre of Dublin city.
