Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery at a domestic residence in Finglas, Dublin, on Saturday, September 27.
Emergency services were called to a residence in the Cappagh area just before 8.00pm.
Up until last night, the bodies of the deceased, an adult male and a female child, remained at the scene.
The location has been preserved for forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and the Coroner was notified and the services of the Office of the State Pathologist have been requested.
A post-mortem examinations will be arranged in due course, the results of which will assist Gardaí in determining the course of the investigation.
No additional information is available at this time and investigations are ongoing.
