Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car.
The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene, as reported by the Garda Press Office.
The collision occurred on the N20 road in the Bruree area of Co. Limerick on Wednesday, 24th December 2025, at approximately 2 am.
The driver of the lorry, a male in his 20s, was rushed to the University Hospital Limerick for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The scene is currently being preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
The N20 road will remain closed at this time between O’Rourke’s Cross and Banogue, therefore, motorists are advised to avoid the use of this road.
Gardaí have since called for any witnesses to the collision to contact them immediately.
Anyone who was travelling on the N20 in the Bruree area between 1:40 am and 2:15 am is asked to make contact with investigating Gardaí, and any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make that footage available.
Gardaí can be contacted at the Newcastle West Garda Station on 069 20650, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
Investigations are ongoing.
