The woman tragically passed away in a drowning accident on Sunday, July 21st.
The woman got into trouble when swimming at the Old Head Beach near Louisburgh in Mayo.
She was reportedly swimming at the local spot when she got into trouble.
The alarm was raised at around 4 pm yesterday afternoon, but it was sadly too late.
The local coastguard and emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident but the woman was pronounced dead.
Her body has since been removed from the scene and taken to Mayo University Hospital.
A coroner has been notified and a post-mortem is due to take place.
An inquest into the incident will also take place in the future.
