Met Éireann have issued another weather warning for 15 counties

Met Éireann have issued a low temperature warning for 15 counties as a massive cold snap arrives in Ireland this weekend. The forecasters issued the yellow level caution for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal on Saturday. It comes into effect at 2am on Sunday and will last until 10am the same day, with forecasters warning temperatures dropping to -3C in some areas. The weather warning follows the country-wide advisory that was put into place on Friday. The caution said that there was "exceptionally cold weather forecast for the net week", and was originally in place from February 23 until March 2. It has now been extended to include March 3. It will be cold and dry tonight, with skies clearing and temperatures lows between 0 and -3C. The coldest areas will be in Leinster and Ulster, with a widespread frost developing from the far southwest. The frost will clear gradually on Sunday during the morning, giving way to a cold, dry and mostly sunny day. But the start of the week will see "bitterly cold, wintry weather" hit the country, beginning with a frost Sunday night. Monday will be mainly dry with some sunny spells, before cloud thickens from the easy. Forecasters say that there will be the odd light snow flurry in the eastern areas later in the say, with temperatures of 3C or 4C in eastern counties and around 5C or 6C in the west and southwest. Temperatures will drop again on Monday night, with severe frost and the risk of snow showers along northern, eastern and southern coastal fringes and lows of -1C to -4 C.
