The first named storm of the season is about to hit Ireland, and Met Éireann has issued a number of warnings for the next few days.
From today (Thursday, 2nd October) there is an orange weather warning for rain in place for Kerry, with flooding to be expected.
Yellow rain warnings are also in place for Cavan, Donegal, Munster, Connacht and Longford, and a yellow thunderstorm warning for Connacht.
Friday, 3rd October, sees the biggest warnings, with Status Orange wind warnings in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
The whole of Ireland is also under a Status Yellow warning for wind.
By Saturday, 4 October, only Donegal will remain under Status Yellow warnings for wind and rain.
The UK Met Office has also issued warnings for Northern Ireland over the next few days.
Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry are all under Yellow wind warnings for both Friday and Saturday.
Met Éireann has warned that Storm Amy is expected to have wide ranging impacts, from fallen trees and travel disruption to potential structural damage.
