Met Éireann issues thunderstorm warning for seven counties

So, we've a high temperature warning and a thunderstorm warning simultaneously on Tuesday.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for seven counties on Tuesday. The warning affects Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford and is valid from 9.30am on Tuesday morning until 9pm on Tuesday night. The forecaster has warned thunderstorm activity for southern and eastern areas could lead to localised heavy rainfall which may cause some localised flooding. It comes as a high temperature warning remains in effect for Leinster on Tuesday as parts of the country are set to experience extremely high temperatures once again. Met Éireann has warned that daytime temperatures of 25 to 28 degrees are expected across the province.

While it will continue to be warm over the eastern half of the country, it will be cooler and fresher elsewhere with highs of 16 to 22 degrees. Following a bright and sunny start to the morning, cloud will build from the south and west on Tuesday morning, with outbreaks of thundery rain in the south and east. Showery rain will spread from the Atlantic later in the day and light winds will increase moderate to fresh northwesterly with the rain.
