Met Éireann has just updated the yellow snow-ice warning for certain counties

The updated warning reads: "Status Yellow - Snow-ice warning for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford and Louth." "Falls of hail, sleet and some snow will occur overnight and on Tuesday morning, with some accumulations of snow in places. Icy stretches also."

The forecast for today also reads:

"Frost and ice clearing this morning to leave a cold and blustery day with sunny spells and widespread squally showers, some with hail and thunder. Falls of sleet and snow are possible also, mainly on high ground. Highest temperatures of just 5 to 8 degrees and feeling colder in strengthening northwesterly winds." "Showers will continue to feed down across the country overnight in brisk northwesterly winds. Further wintry falls are possible with the risk of hail and thunder. However, the showers will tend to become confined to western and northern coastal counties later in the night. Cold overnight with frost and ice forming in sheltered spots. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees." So yeah, don't go putting away your winter woolies just yet!
