Met Éireann has warned hay fever sufferers that the pollen count will be high throughout the country today.
A spokesperson for the forecaster said that "we are in the peak of the grass pollen season," so a "high risk" can be expected during the day - particularly when it is dry and sunny, with temperatures in the high teens. However, they noted: "Occasional showers will reduce the risk wherever they occur." Looking towards the weather for this week, Met Éireann have said "most places will stay dry" today day, with some spells of sunshine and light southwesterly breezes.
A spokesperson added:
"However, there'll be isolated showers too, mainly along northern coasts initially and later in the southwest. It will feel milder than recent days with highs 15C to 19C, highest across the midlands. "Overall dry and calm tonight with some clear spells - just the odd shower along south and southwest coasts later. Lowest temperatures 7C to 10C."
Most of the country will remain dry on Saturday, with some sunny spells throughout the country. There will be some isolated showers though the day, before heavier showers start to move into the southwest during the evening.
Highest temperatures will range 15C to 19C or 20C.
The weather forecaster added:
"Scattered outbreaks of rain will move from the southwest overnight. Misty with hill and coastal fog too. "Mild and humid with overnight lows of 10 to 13 degrees Celsius, in mostly moderate southeast breezes."
