It’s not looking good on the weather front for the Bank Holiday weekend

Make the most of the dry weather today because it's not going to last for the weekend. Met Éireann says that it's going to be mainly dry today with the odd shower here and there. Temperatures will reach highs of 10 to 12 degrees. Southern and western coasts will be affected tonight by rain and drizzle at times. The weather is going to break then on Saturday. It's going to be a cloudy day with damp and windy conditions forecast. The rain will begin in the south and southeast before spreading elsewhere in the afternoon. Then in the evening, the rain will turn heavy and persistent in Munster but elsewhere will be a mainly dry night. It looks like Sunday is going to be a wet one too with outbreaks of rain in most parts in the morning. The only places that will continue to be affected by rain at night is northeast Ulster. The forecast for Monday suggests that it's going to be a dry, bright day to begin with but there could be a chance of rain in Ulster and southwest Munster. We'll see top temperatures of 10 to 16 degrees. Here is Met Éireann's outlook for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday:

"Mainly dry in the north and east on Tuesday with bright or sunny intervals. Cloudier elsewhere with a risk of patchy light rain in places. Light southeasterly or variable breezes. Temperatures near or perhaps slightly above normal for the time of year. Early indications for Wednesday and Thursday suggest mostly dry and settled conditions, with good sunshine and temperatures trending above normal for the time of year, although temperatures may be a little cooler near the east coast in an onshore easterly breeze."
