Add us as a preferred source on Google »It’s a New Year and the start of a new generation as Gen Alpha move over and make way for the new kids on the block.
However, people have been left shocked by the generational name given to babies born from today onwards.
The next wave of kids born between 2025 and roughly 2039 will be known as Generation Beta, or Gen B for short.
Gen Alpha ran from 2010 to 2024 with Gen Z going from 1997 to 2013 (though there are discrepancies over these time frames) after millennials from 1981 to 1996.
Social media users have hit back at the new name as one user said: “Being called a Beta Baby is crazy work.”
A second echoed: “Might be the worst name they could have thought of.”
A third said: “Thank goodness I wasn’t born a Beta.”
Another said: “Imma have to wait 14 years to have my next child.”
Others predicted that ‘these memes will write themselves’ as others simply said ‘ouch’ to the name.
Some wrote down their wishes for the next generation: “I hope Gen Beta kids have a better, less technology dependent childhood than Alphas’s.”
While another predicted: “This will be the worst generation ever mark my words.”
However one was very optimistic writing: “In majority they will be kids of millennial and some of initial Gen Zs...all in all children of 90s kids.
"Hoping for best ever born generation as their parents are from best times of earth non tech followed by tech times.”
