Prince Andrew’s website quietly removed amid Epstein investigation

He stepped away from royal life last year.

Prince Andrew's website has been quietly removed amid the continued Jeffrey Epstein investigation and recent arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell.  The Duke of York's website, thedukeofyork.org, was taken down sometime last month and had not been updated in some time. This comes amid the ongoing investigation against sex offender Epstein and his former girlfriend, alleged child sex trafficker Maxwell. The Duke of York, an old friend of the couple, was accused of having sex with trafficking victim Virginia Giuffre when she was 17-years-old. "In November 2019, His Royal Highness The Duke of York stepped back from his public duties for the foreseeable future," reads the page. The site then provides a link to Prince Andrew's statement following his decision to step back from his duties amid the Epstein investigation. "It has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstances relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family’s work and the valuable work going on in the many organisations and charities that I am proud to support," it reads. "I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein. His suicide has left many unanswered questions, particularly for his victims, and I deeply sympathise with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure." The Duke of York adds that he is "willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required." US prosecutors, however, claim that Prince Andrew has been unwilling to cooperate with their investigation. The Duke of York's representatives argue that the US Department of Justice "has reacted to the first two offers by breaching their own confidentiality rules and claiming that the Duke has offered zero cooperation. "In doing so, they are perhaps seeking publicity rather than accepting the assistance proffered."
