Ryanair bosses and pilots have reached an agreement after 5 days of strike action

An agreement has been reached between Ryanair bosses and pilots.

After a marathon session of negotiations of 22 hours, the two groups came to a compromise. The row between the Irish based pilots and the airline was over base transfers, promotions and leave resulted in 5 strike days over the busy summer months. The proposed agreement will go to a ballot, with Forsa, the union representing Irish Ryanair pilots, calling on its members to accept it. Both parties have been asked not to make any statement to the public before the ballot has been voted on. Throughout the entire summer, Ryanair pilots took industrial action, however, Ryanair did not hold back in calling them out. After it's fourth day of strike action, the airline took to social media and wrote:

"We apologise to the 2,500 Irish customers whose flights today (Tues) were cancelled last Thursday (and who were re-accommodated/refunded over the weekend) due to a 3rd unnecessary strike by a small minority (25 percent) of our Irish pilots (who earn €150,000 - €200,000 p.a.) over 'seniority and base transfer' proposals which they can't explain and which don't even affect them. "Our pilots should resolve these issues through our working group and notdisrupa any more customer holidays. "Across Europe today, Ryanair will operate over 2,400 flights, taking over 450,000 customers to their holiday destinations."
