It comes as a country-wide wind warning was put into place earlier on New Year's Day.
The yellow wind warning will begin at 5pm on Tuesday January 2 and will stay in place until 9pm on Wednesday January 3.
It cautions that west to southwest winds with average speeds of 55 to 65 km/h, gusting to 90 to 110 km/h, will begin to develop on Tuesday evening.
The winds will continue through Tuesday night and Wednesday, with a potential for even stronger winds developing locally or for a time on Tuesday evening, with damaging gusts.
