#Sneachta: People are losing their damn minds over the weather

Irish Twitter really comes into its own in the face of inclement weather.

Weather warnings, flash flooding, a cheeky heatwave, a bit of wind - there's nothing we as a nation we love talking about more than the weather so it only makes sense that we lose our sh*t a small bit over something other than grey skies and hazy drizzle. Snow fell in parts of the country today and #sneachta promptly trended across Ireland for a time this afternoon as we all gazed out our windows with Seamus Heaney-levels of childlike wonder.

Spoilsport. It doesn't look like the weather will ease up any time soon either - Met Éireann has issued a number of weather warnings for various counties as conditions are expected to worsen across the country. A Status Orange wind warning is in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork and Kerry, while there's a Status Yellow wind warning for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford. A nationwide snow-ice warning has also been issued as we can expect up to 3cm of snow tonight.
